Kitchen Tools Needed:
- Mixing bowl
- Measuring cups/spoons
- Round scalloped cookie cutters
- Hand mixer or stand mixer
- Parchment paper
- Large baking pan
- Small microwave safe bowl
- Decorating bag
Ingredients Needed:
- Butter, softened
- Granulated sugar
- Eggs
- Vanilla extract
- Flour
- Salt
- Green candy melts
- White nonpareil sprinkles

TIME-SAVING TOOLS FROM THE GROCERY STORE:
I highly suggest making your own sugar cookie dough for the recipe but you could also use store-bought sugar cookies from the grocery store if you don't have a lot of time.
If you don't have any green candy melts on hand, the frosting will do the trick. Just be careful when you store them as the frosting could smear, while the candy melts most likely will not.

HOMEMADE SUGAR COOKIE DOUGH:
I love this homemade no spread cookie dough recipe, I use it for so many other holidays and with many different cookie cutters. Ideas are endless.

Candy melt tips and tricks:
Always heat candy melts in small increments on 50% power, this way the candy melts are likely to stay soft. If they happen to harden up, just add a teaspoon of Crisco, toss back in the microwave for 10 seconds and mix.

What to do with Christmas Tree Sugar cookies:
Do you have plenty of Christmas cookies for yourself and want to share? Bring them to a cookie exchange, gift them to a friend or co-worker, bring them to your local fire hall or drop them off at a homeless shelter. Spread a little Christmas cheer with these wonderful Christmas Tree Sugar Cookies.
